Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Haggly ("Haggly," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Haggly mobile app and the web pages we operate, including the public item and sale pages created when you print tags (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
The short version
- No account or sign-in is required. We do not ask for your name, email, or phone number to use the app.
- Your sales and items live on your device. They reach our servers only when you use photo analysis or print tags with QR codes, plus small status updates (such as marking a printed item Sold) that keep public pages current.
- Printing an item creates a public web page for it. Anyone with the link or QR code can view that page.
- We do not sell your personal information. We use no ads, no analytics trackers, and no tracking cookies.
Information we collect
- Content you provide: item photos, titles, descriptions, prices, sale names, and related details you create in the app. This content stays on your device unless you use a feature that sends it to us, such as photo analysis, printing, or status updates for items you have already published.
- Photos: when you photograph an item, the photo is sent to our servers and shared with OpenAI to generate a suggested title, description, and price. If you print or publish an item, its photo is also stored on our servers to power its public page.
- Device credential: on first launch, the app creates a random credential in your phone's secure storage. It authorizes requests to our servers, is not derived from your identity, and cannot identify you personally. It expires and is replaced automatically.
- IP address and technical logs: when your device or a browser contacts our servers, we receive the IP address and basic request details (such as time, endpoint, and response status). We use these only for security, rate limiting, and troubleshooting.
- Support email: if you email us, we receive your email address and message and use them only to respond to you.
We do not collect your name, phone number, precise location, contacts, or advertising identifiers. There are no user accounts. We do not process payments and never see payment information: sales happen in person between you and your buyers, and Haggly is not a party to those transactions.
How we use information
- Provide the Service: generate listing suggestions from your photos, publish and display the public pages you create, and keep printed QR codes working.
- Protect the Service: prevent abuse, enforce rate limits, and keep our servers and other users safe.
- Maintain and improve: diagnose problems and keep the Service reliable.
- Comply with law: meet legal, regulatory, and safety obligations.
We do not sell or rent your information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not build marketing profiles from it.
AI photo analysis
Photo analysis is powered by OpenAI, which processes your item photos as a service provider to generate suggestions. At the time of writing, OpenAI states that content submitted through its API is not used to train its models. Photograph items only: please do not include people, documents, or anything else you would not want processed in an item photo.
Public content
Printing a tag publishes that item's photo, title, description, price, and status to a public web page so its QR code resolves. A public page listing the published items in a sale is created as well. Anyone with the link or QR code can view these pages, and others may copy, share, or save what they see. Our pages ask search engines not to index them, but once content is public we cannot control what third parties do with it.
You decide what to publish and you are responsible for the content you make public. Do not publish photos or text that contain personal or sensitive information. You can ask us to take down any published page at any time (see Your choices and rights).
When we share information
- Service providers: we use Replit for hosting, infrastructure, and database services, Google Cloud for photo storage, and OpenAI for photo analysis. We may use additional or replacement providers from time to time; all of them process information only to provide their services to us.
- Legal and safety: we may disclose information if we believe in good faith that doing so is required by law or legal process, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Haggly, our users, or others, or to detect, prevent, or address fraud, abuse, or security issues.
- Business transfers: if Haggly is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
We never sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Cookies and tracking
Our web pages do not use cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics.
Data retention
- On your device: your sales and items stay on your phone until you delete them or uninstall the app. Deleting the app deletes this local data.
- Published pages: items you have printed stay published, along with their photos, so their QR code pages keep working. They remain until you ask us to remove them or we remove them.
- Server records: device credentials expire automatically after about 30 days. Security logs and rate-limit records are retained for as long as reasonably necessary for the security and operation of the Service.
- Legal requirements: we may retain certain information longer where reasonably necessary to comply with law, resolve disputes, or enforce our rights.
Your choices and rights
- Delete in the app: deleting an item or sale removes it from your device.
- Remove public pages: email us a link to any public item or sale page and we will take it down.
- Legal rights: depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to a data protection authority (for example, under the GDPR in the EEA and the UK). California residents may have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the rights to know, delete, and correct. We do not sell personal information, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising any right.
Because we do not collect names or contact details, we may ask for information such as your public page links to locate data connected to you, and we may take reasonable steps to verify a request before acting on it. To exercise any right, contact us at the email below and we will respond as required by applicable law.
Security
We protect information in transit with encryption (HTTPS/TLS), store the app's credential in your phone's secure storage, and limit access to server data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the Service, contact us and we will delete it.
International users
Haggly is operated from the United States, and information is processed and stored in the United States. If you use the Service from elsewhere, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country.
Third-party services
This policy covers only Haggly. It does not apply to third-party services, sites, or platforms, including the app store you download Haggly from or any place a public page link is shared. Their practices are governed by their own policies, which we encourage you to review.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as Haggly changes or as legal requirements evolve. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date above; if a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to bring it to your attention. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the updated policy.
